Boss Auto Rentals is a locally owned car rental company in Christchurch, based at 30 Oakhampton Street, Hornby. We hire small cars, SUVs, 7-seaters and luxury vehicles to Christchurch residents and visitors, with pickup from our Hornby branch, free delivery across the city, and collection from Christchurch Airport by arrangement. The branch operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and accepts debit cards.
Open 24 hours, seven days. Most Christchurch rental desks close somewhere between 9pm and 2am. Ours doesn’t. If you’re on a late flight, an early start, or your own car has let you down on a Sunday night, you can still collect from Hornby.
Free delivery across Christchurch. We bring the car to your home, hotel, or workplace within our Christchurch delivery zone, and collect it again at the end of the hire — no trip to Hornby required at either end. Delivery and collection are free between 9am – 7pm.
Debit cards accepted. You don’t need a credit card to pay the bond.

Airport arrivals. Landing at CHC and need a car waiting? We can arrange collection from the airport, and our Toyota Vellfire and Honda Accord both have enough boot space for a family’s worth of luggage.
Christchurch residents between cars. If your own car is in for repairs or being sold, we offer long-term and monthly rates so you’re not paying daily prices for an extended hire.
Business and trade hire. Based in the Hornby/Islington industrial area, we offer weekday and weekly rates with invoicing for local businesses and trade customers.
